Alfonso Padilla Peña – Managing Partner
Alfonso Padilla Peña, a lawyer specialising in Tax Law and Commercial Law and founder and managing partner of the firm, was born in Madrid on May 26th, 1971.
He has a law degree from the Comillas Pontifical University-ICADE, from which he graduated with Honours, and a post graduate degree in Economic and Business Sciences from the same university.
He completed an internship in the legal offices of the Gómez-Acebo y Pombo firm in Brussels (1994) and at the Narciso Amorós Economic Law Firm in Madrid (1996). Alfonso has been a State Tax Inspector since 1997, a position from which he has been on leave of absence since November 2004.
He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the entities Empresa Nacional de Autopistas, SA and Depurbaix SA and has extensive teaching experience and as a speaker at numerous conferences and seminars on the taxation of legal entities and international taxation. He has been or is a lecturer at the Business Institute, Lecturer of the Master’s in Taxation of the Centro de Estudios Garrigues, Lecturer of the School of Public Finance, Lecturer of the Master’s in Business Taxation of UNIDAM and Lecturer of the Contax Academy for the preparation of exams for entry to the Ministry of Finance.
He speaks English and French.
His professional experience prior to the foundation of the firm in March 2009 includes work in both the private and public sectors.
Between September 2007 and February 2009, he was Director of Company Taxation for the firm Ernst & Young, Lawyers. Prior to that, between October 2004 and August 2007, he was a senior associate of the tax department at the Lovells law firm, today Hogan-Lovells.
Before holding these positions in the private sector, he served as Inspector of the Treasury, between 1997 and 2004, in different areas. From 1999, he worked in the General Directorate of Taxes of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, occupying different positions, the last one being, until 2004, that of Deputy Director General of Tax Policy.
